Why are there no tee times?
Bear Creek is never overcrowded because membership is limited to 250 regular members, no outside play is permitted, and guests must be accompanied by a member.
How many rounds of golf are played at Bear Creek annually compared to other clubs
on Hilton Head Plantation?
Bear Creek has fewer than 18,000 rounds per year compared to 32,000, 42,000 and 44,000 at the three other clubs in Hilton Head Plantation.
Do I need to have a low handicap to belong to Bear Creek?
No! Bear Creek member handicaps cover the complete range of possibilities – high to low. If you'd like to improve or maintain your game, our professional staff offers complete golf instruction programs.
Does Bear Creek have dining facilities?
Yes! Lunch is served daily, a popular club dinner is held once or twice each month. Additionally, dinner is always a key part of the many parties available to members.

Are there extra charges for golf carts, range balls or tips?
Membership dues cover carts, unlimited range balls and rounds of golf and there is a no tipping policy. Instead of tipping, there is a voluntary annual contribution for a year-end appreciation fund for employees.
The membership application requires a sponsor and cosponsor. I am not personally acquainted with any Bear Creek Members; how do I fulfill this requirement?
A member of the Membership Committee will introduce you to two Bear Creek members who will serve as your sponsor and cosponsor. Alternatively, the Club will accept letters of recommendation from previous clubs or longtime acquaintances.
Do I have to be a resident of Hilton Head Plantation to belong to Bear Creek?
No. In fact, the club was started by residents of another Island plantation who were tired of waiting for tee times!
What are the residency requirements for a Nonresident Membership?
A member must be present on the island fewer than 122 days a year to qualify for Nonresident membership.
Have there been any assessments?
Yes, but there have been a few since the Club's inception, but not for more than 15 years. Bear Creek’s plans do not include assessments, but rather, if and when needed, a small dues surcharge might be the most fair to all and the least costly.
What are the hours of operation?
Bear Creek is open every day except Christmas Day and several days during the year for scheduled course maintenance.

Practice Range: 7:30 am - 7:00 PM
Other Hours (October 1st - March 31st)
Course: 8:30 am - Dusk
